11 June 2010 (Friday)

- We went to Pan Sheng Development Project for a site visit. This is a 2 storey terrace house project. It is located near Kingfisher Park. This site visit was conducted by Mr. Fabian.
The first section we went to is the section where they are doing the concreting for ground slab.

-Those pipes coming out from the ground are the M&E pipes. As in the picture, the bigger diameter pipes is for the toilet bowl.
-Those starter bars coming out from the ground beam will be the re-bar for apron slabs (short bar) and for slabs (long bar).

-Bunch of formwork for different size and shapes of footing were placed at one corner of the site.

-This section where they are doing the first floor column. A number of column has finished.

-Workers pouring concrete into the formwork using a pale. For a small size column, this method is a satisfactory.

-to safeguard the piling base, usually the contractor will pinned a 4 points offset wooden sticks.

-Then using the footing grid line box to navigate and mark the piling points later on. Different size and shape, depends on the design.
-This project use bakau for piling, instead of the RC piles. Emphasize by the government as an eco-friendly approach.

-This piling sleeves made specially for bakau only. It helps to joint bakau pile.

-Piling machine for small diameter pile (6-12 inch diameter pile)

-Using manual method to bend steel bar into links, for RC.

-Excavator and backhoe, can be found in most all construction site.
